Welcome to Allen Bible Resources!
Last Updated: 25 February 2013
I am the minister for Kettering Church of Christ. Before moving to Ohio in 2010, I have served Churches of Christ in Indiana, South Dakota, and Kentucky.
This is my personal blog where I post a variety of biblical resources to encourage Christians in their daily walk with Christ. Many of my sermon outlines, class material, articles, and personal observations on culture and religion are made available here.
I want to be an encouragement to you. My goal is to help you to grow stronger in your relationship with our Savior. I believe we should be more passionate about what we are for, rather than what we are against. I believe you will see that philosophy in each post.
I generally post one or two updates each day to Allen Bible Resources. To make sure you do not miss my latest posts, please subscribe to my RSS feed or via posts in digest form via email.

My biography

I can remember from as early as 9 years of age having the desire to preach. Having grown up in churches of Christ, I found myself around some wise and helpful mentors who have greatly encouraged me along the way. Some of the early influences on me came from Jerry Henderson, Vaughn D. Shofner, Thomas Thornhill Jr., and Michael Cornwell. Shortly after my marriage, I began preaching the gospel on a regular basis. In 1995, we moved to Brownsburg, IN for a one year ministerial intern program conducted by Carl McMurray and the Brownsburg church. In 1996, Becky, our 2 month old daugther Emilea, and I moved to Tompkinsville, Kentucky where I began work with the Cyclone Church of Christ.
In 1997, we moved to Rapid City, South Dakota where we began working with Southside Church of Christ. While we lived there, our son Zackary was born. He is very proud to be a native South Dakotan. We spent six enjoyable years there, and still consider Rapid City our adopted hometown.
In 2003, I received an opportunity to move back to Indiana to work with the Brownsburg Church of Christ. This congregation of good people have been a great blessing to us through the years.
I have had the honor of preaching in meetings, lectureships, and conferences for churches of Christ throughout the United States. My evangelical work outside of the United States has taken me to Ukraine (2003, 2004, 2008), Belize (1998), Canada (2007, 2009, 2011), and Colombia (2011 and 2013).
I love the outdoors. Hiking, golfing, camping, and canoeing are some of my favorite recreational pursuits. I enjoy traveling and experiencing the beauty of God’s creation.
I am the son of Sam and Donna Allen (Franklin, OH) and my wife Becky is the daughter of Carl and Loretta King (Hackett, AR).
I have also prepared a page where you can learn more about me. Also, if you like, you can browse my speaking schedule. Enjoy!
